The next food group will be on
SATURDAY, January 16th. Time TBA
The choices for the new year are obvious:
Louie’s Pizzeria at Baxter and 82nd St. This is a much needed, quality pizzeria in our area, opened within the last 5 months. Not only great pizza but fresh, homemade pasta as well. Their business is gaining steam lately, and with good reason. I bet Louie will put on a good show for us.
Shangri-La Express Dumpling and Curry House on Roosevelt and 72nd St. This is the brick and mortar culmination of years as a street cart underneath the watch company billboard on Bway welcoming people to Li’l India. Their Tibetan/Nepali menu is accessible and their food is fresh and unapologizing.
These are both great quality restaurants, and no matter what happens with the decisions for this month’s food group, I recommend you check them both out. They’re both small, I know, but challenges only yield creativity. We’ll see what happens…
Either way, this month’s cost should be around 10 dollars. Probably less.
In related news: Ambassador program to be launched as the new year comes and possibly a Flushing mall event. It’s been a great year and I hope the acceleration never levels off.
