Finding the Basement of the Golden Mall

It was embarrassingly recently I found out that the basement of the Golden Mall (41-28 Main Street, Flushing) is where the food court is. For a while, I just thought it was the few stalls upstairs where I only had some (dashing) lamb noodle soup a few times.

Here are the entrances to the basement of the Golden Mall – one of the most amazing eating spectacles in Manhattan. To be rivaled with the glee of St Marks, Roosevelt Ave and the Bohemian Beer Garden.

You can hit it from the back

on 41st Rd, about 50 feet from Main St

or hit it from the front

41-28 Main Street, Flushing - about 20 fees south of 41st rd

There are way too many places to try in here, and of course what the few writers in the NYT, NYMag, TimeOut and other pathways tell the general public, regarding the entrails of Flushing, siphon them only to their own limited experiences. It is only until the you, the food scouts and hounds, scour this mall will we get to know what is the best out there. I think there are about 15 vendors in this mall (it’s still all a blur). Please, order with reckless abandon and let your results be available to the public.

  1. And apparently there are three or four other food courts just as good in Flushing? I’ve only been to this one but the NYT story a couple years ago details the whole scene there. The stand in your last photo serves some steamed dumplings that are truly to die for; my mother was such a fan, she wanted to go back months later to bring him a cake.

  2. yes, there is the Flushing Mall and the Roosevelt Mall. Not sure of others off the top of my head.
